Serena Inn

Regarded as the most up-market hotel in Stone Town, the Serena Inn benefits from its being a part of the internationally renowned Serena Hotel Chain. It is, of course, somewhat larger, and less intimate, than the other hotels that we have featured here, but makes up for this by its prime location on Stone Town's waterfront, and the wide range of facilities provided, including an excellent swimming pool.

Its 51 bedrooms, which are all en-suite, with air-conditioning and TVs in each, mainly comprise 39 standard such rooms, with the addition of a smaller number of enhanced standard rooms and suites. Although the hotel is positioned on the beach, this is a town centre, rather than sunbathing, beach, but nevertheless provides an excellent vista.

In addition to a Business Centre and Games room, the hotel possesses a number of different bars and restaurants, together with a stylish coffee shop. A small spa completes the picture.
