Very recently renovated as a luxury hotel, The Swahili House was originally a Nineteenth Century Indian Merchant House, and the current owners have worked hard to maintain its historic ambiance, whilst also providing the highest standards of modern luxury.
The hotel has five floors, built around a beautiful traditional Zanzibar courtyard, with a mere 22 rooms spread over the top four such floors, and ranging over three categories of room. European-sized mattresses are provided throughout, together with air-conditioning and a spectacular open bathroom.
A special feature is the rooftop terrace, housing the bar, restaurant and jacuzzi. This terrace's open sides provide diners with a stunning 360-degree view over the town.
The hotel will gladly provide a guide to help you explore Stone Town itself, or indeed the remainder of the Island. Transfers to and from the airport can also be provided.
22 rooms in three different categories spread over 4 floors.
