Originally known as Matembwe Bungalows, Matemwe Lodge is perched on a coral rock in the north east of Zanzibar and situated opposite the spectacular Mnemba Atoll – perfect for diving and snorkelling. With lush tropical gardens and fine white sand this is the ultimate tropical paradise.  

There are 12 beautiful spacious bungalows built from local materials and surrounded by lovely gardens. Each  has a private veranda with hammock and couch overlooking the Indian Ocean –  the ideal place to relax and unwind.  The bungalows have a king size bed and an extra single bed with mosquito nets. There are large bathrooms with deep bathtubs and walk in showers.

There is an open air restaurant overlooking the ocean and specialising in seafood dishes. Produce is bought daily from the local market.  A buffet lunch is served with a delicious mixture of African and European flavours. Dinner offers a choice of main course. There is also a tranquil lounge area, and multi level swimming pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and a poolside bar.
